“I don’t use Accounts…can you please take away access to them?” Sure! No problem….or is there?

Recently we completed a Microsoft Dynamics CRM project for one of our customers and they see themselves as a B2C sort of company. As part of the Analysis Phase of our project they indicated that they don’t want to see Accounts referenced in the system. So we did what you would expect. We updated the security roles by taking away read access to Accounts in the system. Worked as expected…Accounts…POOF…gone.

Now, fast forward about 2-3 months. The customer reported that when their users go to a Contact and look on the left navigation pane, they cannot see More Addresses!
