If you struggle to find the GL account where a Department, Position, Pay Code combination is posting a particular Account Type in Microsoft Dynamics GP Payroll, I have the solution!
It is located where one would least expect it– not in an historical-type labeled table (i.e. some sort of UPR30XXX table), but rather in the Payroll Account Cache (UPR19901).
This can be particularly useful if you are trying to find where payroll postings are going to a “9999″ account. Anything you find in this table that has the ACTINDX related to your “9999″ GL account potentially needs to be fixed so that it will actually hit a “real” posting account. It also lists the Department, Position, Pay Code and the Payroll Posting Account Type to make your search easier.
